Wellp, it needs to be said. #JeffBezos and #ElonMusk are two of the stupidest humans alive.
This Forbes article describes how, but not why. How Dumb We Are
To say they “think” a trillion humans means more Beethovens is ironic: that’s not “thinking”, that’s bloviating and barfing up nonsense because they want more consumers, but know it isn’t cool to come right out and say “make more babies and buy more of our stuff!”
I wouldn’t put it past these two Inhumans to be behind anti-birth control, or anti-abortion schemes. More miserably poor people means more cheap labor, and more consumers trying to fill their emptiness with stuff. It’s always about money with billionaires, never about decency, grace, wisdom, or restraint.
Also, neither of these two bozos is anywhere NEAR being a Beethoven despite the $$Billions$$ of opportunities provided them.
Nor are they Einsteins, or even Forrest Gumps. Forrest Gump, albeit a fictitious character who resembles real people we have all known, was a genuine, sweet soul who did not need to ransack the planet to find a depth of personal meaning. “Stupid is as stupid does,” was never truer a quote. You know it. I know it. We all know a Forrest Gump in our lives and most of us would rather hang with him than either of those two billionaire clowns.
Geniuses are not a result of MORE babies, they are a result of careful nurture of individuals and dedicated investments of time in educating those individuals AFTER they are born. And even then such genius and WISDOM is a rarity, but at least we get smart individuals with some competence and decency.
Obviously these two clowns missed the boat. They missed ALL the boats.
Besides the more people means more geniuses argument that you refute, we also get the argument that more people mean a bigger economy--specifically, higher gross domestic products (GDP).
But we shouldn't care much about the GDP of some artificially delineated "economy". We should care about the GDP per person--that is, how well each person is doing. As you point out, that means nurturing the people we already have, not bringing billions more along to work at low wages for Musk and Bezos.
Such people's ego's have configured their brains so that they become convinced that their wealth is an indicator of their brilliance and being a good human being.
