How about 'Climate chaos is here'... In 2021 in B.C. where we live, drought parched the region for months in the spring. The town of Lytton registered 49.6 C. on June 30, and was wiped out by wildfire the very next day, while thousands of wildfires scorched the province throughout the summer with air quality readings the worst on Earth for 2 consecutive weeks, (some towns had to turn on streets lights at noon) culminating in the fall with 2 atmospheric rivers that flooded some towns for months and swept aside some of the province's bridges to Vancouver as if they were matchsticks...

Since then, we have been evacuated , witnessed a wildfire rage across miles of Lake Okanagan shores 75 miles long) with embers crossing an expanse of water 2 miles across... It was like observing Thor the fire God use a flame thrower engulfing football fields filled with forests every 2 seconds... If anything of value can be said about climate chaos, it is that its events are absolutely spectacular. Last winter the South Okanagan endured the coldest temperatures ever recorded killing most fruit trees by the millions while making this season's wine harvest non-existent since all of the grape seeds were killed. .... ...'Climate chaos has arrived.

Yes... 49.6 C seems more like Death Valley than the Great WHITE North. In fact , only 9 days later, on July 9th, 2021, Death Valley recorded its highest temperature ever... 54.4 C... which would make Canada's record temperature only a few degrees away from the all time U.S temperature record... No wonder the town of Lytton was scorched. ..... .

There may well be some paid shills among the deniers, but I think the blame for continued public ignorance largely lies with the oil industry's extensive and sustained disinformation/propaganda campaign it embarked upon not long after James Hansen's testimony to Congress back in 1988.

Yes. The IPCC was specifically created by Reagan and his Heartland Institute to quash climate activism like Hansen’s. They succeeded.

I'd like to see everyone who's been actively involved in climate change denialism prosecuted. Will never happen, of course.

How do the IPCC quash activism? I know they can be said to be moderates but apart from a very dodgy and misleading graph in the first report, they seem to be recording the temperatures as they go up and up.

I understand about the activities of the Heartland Institute. They very cleverly used the dissent over the 'covid' debacle to target climate denialism at 'health freedom'.

Yes, I believe many of those deniers are being paid, perhaps with dark campaign money.

As a New Hampshire resident, observer, and someone with friends & family in Vermont, it seems that VT is especially hard hit. The reason seems to be storms moving up the CT River valley, but that's not provable.

I recall the the really nasty damage around 2011 maybe (?) (sorry, memory is foggy) from a September hurricane.

I guess nowhere is safe Pauline.

Yes. It was hurricane Irene that turned to a tropical storm and melted Vermont. My daughter was living in Brattleboro at the time. She knew of a local who was washed away in the flood and was never found.

1) You do not follow the science. 2) You are not well-read on the data. 3)You have not grown food, or gardened extensively.

Pick one of these or all since they obviously define how you come to your conclusions.

Stop making up “science” to suit your agenda, but thank you for being an excellent example for my followers of troll deniers. Paid? If not, you are missing out.

It is exactly this approach in this question that makes it difficult to even have a dialog among people.

Almost no one in it's right mind would deny that climate is changing, simply because it has been changing since earth developed an atmosphere.

So calling people deniers is like the CIA-term conspiracytheorists - only good to kill any conversation and declare superiority and being the holder of truth. Be my guest, if that makes you feel good. Just do not expect us 'sceptics' to engage with you in a meaningful discourse, because all you have is statements to weather and weather is no climate.

In capitalism, there are always people who try to make money out of everything. It's inherent in the system.

Nnow climate-panic is a great thing/businessmodel to make people pay and accept to let go of rights, rights our grand parents & parents fought for.

The whole CO2 story do not add up and for logic is no need as it seems in this climate fearmongering.

Every kid who has paid a little attention in biology and knows about photosynthese will be able to explain to you that CO2 is not even able to be a climate killer. Simply because it is too heavy. Even O2 is not light enough, that's why high up in the mountains there is less O2. Now add the C atom and it's getting more heavy, we have a periodic system of the known elements with the weight of the atoms for that, you can look it up.

And so I could go on and on but it would be a waste of time to even try.

You are from beautiful Canada I guess, so talk to your indigenious elders, they have a treasure of knowlegde about times long before you white colonizers came and ruined the landscape.

Try to learn something and do not 'follow the science', a corrupted science, servicing those who founding their research.

And try to see the division that is artificially created on this topic, like the division between men and women by the woke feminism, the division between elderly and young people by spreading nonsense about the cost of the elderly for society and on and on and on.

I wish you all a good life, happyness and harmony in body, mind & soul.

What an excellent example of dumbed-down, pseudo science, anti-reality, climate-denying. Thank you for proving my point!
